By the time you read this column, I may very well regret having written it. Our deadline constraints require that I finish “Rants & Raves” nearly a week before it’s published, and with our 24 hour news cycle, a week might as well be a year.
A distinguished gentleman one pew over tapped me on the shoulder last Sunday before the service and said, “I’ve been enjoying reading your thoughts in that paper of yours, young lady.”
If there’s one complaint I have about Beaufort in springtime – besides the schizo weather and the niggling no-see-ums and the magical, self-replacing bird poop on my windshield – it’s that there’s simply too much going on.
I hope I’m safe in assuming that anyone who planned to see Hannah Montana: The Movie has already done so. Isn’t it the kind of event you either line up for opening weekend to appease the young girl in your life… or avoid like the plague? I think so, but if I’m wrong, consider this a spoiler alert.
