And it’s about time ! Is it just me, or did winter seem to go on forever this year? I’m ready for less pollen and fewer Live Oak leaves.

Saturday, April 18^th signals the beginning of the fifth year for the award winning gardening series, “Lunch and Learn.”  The Lowcountry Master Gardeners Association sponsors these free Saturday noon programs at the Gazebo at the Port Royal Farmers’ Market at Heritage Park. Lectures, workshops and classes are led by local professionals and Master Gardeners.

Whether it’s an overgrown shrub, hedge, tree or trellis you should have a goal in mind when you prune. Unfortunately many shrubs and trees were improperly planted in the landscape. Foundation plants may be too close to the building and too close to each other. Trees may have been installed as specimens but over time began to crowd or shade other plantings.
